TOHS uses public-safe housing information to help members search, learn, and make better housing decisions. This policy explains how listing and community information may be used in public tools, education, and open-data work.

Public-safe use

TOHS public tools should use only information that has been reviewed and shaped for public display. Public views should exclude raw post text, full names, private contact details, private addresses, internal moderation notes, reports, incidents, evidence, and join passphrases.

All volunteers and stewards handling private inquiries or moderation data are bound by our strict Contributor Confidentiality and Safety standards, ensuring non-public member information and incident reports are never disclosed or shared with unauthorized third parties or public members.

Housing search and education

Approved listing information may be used to power search tools, rental insights, public guidance, templates, FAQs, and community education.

Open data and transparency

TOHS may publish aggregated or public-safe insights to help renters, researchers, civic technologists, and community partners understand housing conditions. Open-data outputs must not expose personal or protected operational information.

Corrections and removal

If you believe information connected to you is inaccurate or should not appear in a public-safe tool, contact TOHS for review.
